Here is a summary of the situation faced by impoverished elderly individuals, families, and their children, based on the initiatives of OCAKA BOSCO:

Elderly & Unemployed Support: Many elderly individuals across local communities are unable to work due to age, disability, or chronic health conditions. They rely on direct essential welfare assistance—including food, safe shelter, blankets, mattresses, and basic healthcare—to live with dignity.

Child Labor & Extreme Hardship: With no steady household income, many youth and children are forced into manual labor, such as quarrying stones, just to earn enough money for basic daily meals.

Lack of Education & Medical Care: The small earnings from manual work are insufficient to cover critical living expenses, leaving families unable to afford school fees, uniforms, learning materials, or proper medical treatment for chronic illnesses.

Intervention & Livelihood Aid: Charitable relief programs focus on relieving these burdens by offering orphan sponsorships, medical aid, and community microfinance or livestock projects (such as piglet farming) to help families generate sustainable income without relying on child labor.
